FAQ
How much do classes cost, and which currencies do you take?
Prices are listed in USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD. Amounts are fixed in each currency — not live exchange rates. Quran is priced for 30-minute classes. Urdu can be 30 or 60 minutes; the 60-minute price is twice the 30-minute price. A second child on the same parent account is 10% off that child’s plan. You can pay monthly, for 6 months (10% off) or yearly (20% off). See the pricing page for the current figures.
How do the 3 free trial classes work?
New families may book 3 free trial classes. No card is needed. A trial is not a paid plan and does not guarantee a standing weekly slot until you enrol. Tell us the course, duration, timezone and whether you prefer a male or female teacher.
What is your refund policy?
If you live in the UK or the EU, you may cancel a new paid plan within 14 days of purchase unless you asked us to start classes in that period and those classes have already been given. After that we refund unused remaining classes on a pro-rata basis. An admin fee of [ADMIN-FEE] may be deducted. Refunds usually return the same way you paid, within [REFUND-DAYS] days of approval. Trial classes are free and are not refunded. Read the full refund policy.
How do you choose and back up teachers?
Families choose a male or female teacher on the trial form. Each student has one main teacher and a same-gender backup. If the backup covers planned leave, the family sees a short note — not the backup’s profile. Backup teachers cover planned leave only, never lateness. Teachers never see a family’s phone, email or WhatsApp. We do not publish individual teacher-vetting certificates on this site; ask us if you need more detail.
Are classes recorded?
Join times may be logged and classes may be reviewed for quality and safeguarding. We do not send families a downloadable recording as part of the normal class. A parent or trusted adult should stay nearby for students under 13.
Can I choose a female or a male teacher?
Yes. Teacher gender is required on the trial form: male, female, or no preference. The main teacher and the backup are the same gender.
How do timezones and weekly slots work?
Classes are timezone-flexible. You tell us your timezone on the trial form. After you enrol, the student keeps a weekly slot with the same teacher. Class times are stored in UTC. There is a 15-minute gap after every class.
What if we miss a class or need to reschedule?
If a student is late, the class still ends at the booked time. If a teacher is late, we offer a make-up in the same week. If the teacher has not joined within 15 minutes, the class is cancelled as a teacher no-show and the student gets a full make-up. You may ask to move a class if you give at least [X] hours’ notice. The new slot must keep the same class length and the 15-minute gap.
What is the minimum age?
The trial form accepts ages 3 to 80. A parent or trusted adult should stay nearby for students under 13. We teach children on a parent account.
What device do we need?
A device with a camera, a microphone and a modern browser. Classes run inside the Noor Harf portal with a built-in video room. We do not send external Zoom links as the normal classroom. Video may use Jitsi, Daily or Zoom Video SDK, as configured by the academy.
How do I pay?
Plans are paid upfront by PayPal or Wise. PayPal takes you to PayPal to pay securely. A Wise transfer stays “awaiting payment” until we mark the invoice paid. Use the invoice number as your Wise reference.
What is the difference between Quran and Urdu levels?
Quran Level 1 joins Qurani Qaida and Nazra. Level 2 joins Tajweed with completing the Quran (Khatam). The teacher marks when a student is ready for Level 2. Urdu Level 1 (Qaida and reading) is mandatory for every Urdu student, including children who already speak Urdu at home. Level 2 uses Pakistani Class 2–8 textbooks for writing and speaking. We do not offer GCSE Urdu preparation.
How long is each lesson?
Quran classes are 30 minutes. Urdu can be 30 or 60 minutes. The 15-minute buffer still follows a 60-minute class.
Do you offer adult, Hifz or new-Muslim courses?
Quran extras include a separate track for adult beginners and revision for people who learned before but forgot. Dedicated Hifz and new-Muslim course pages are not published yet. English is planned after launch; booking and prices for English will appear when that course is switched on.
How do I contact you?
